New third-generation Intel? Xeon? Scalable processor: Intel continues to increase its investment in built-in AI acceleration in the new third-generation Xeon? scalable processor, integrating bfloat16 support into its unique depth Learning acceleration technology. bfloat16 is a streamlined data format. Compared with today's 32-bit floating-point numbers (FP32), bfloat16 only achieves half of the number of bits and only requires a small modification to the software (if necessary) to achieve the same level as FP32. The same level of model accuracy. The newly added bfloat16 support accelerates both the AI training and inference performance of the CPU. Intel’s optimized version of leading deep learning frameworks (including TensorFlow and Pytorch) will support bfloat16 and will be available through the Intel AI Analysis Toolkit. Intel also provides bfloat16 optimizations for the OpenVINO toolkit and ONNX Runtime environment to simplify the deployment of inference. The third generation Intel? Xeon? Scalable processor (codenamed "Cooper Lake") is Intel's product for the four-way and eight-way processor market. This processor is designed for deep learning, virtual machine (VM) density, in-memory databases, mission-critical applications, and analysis-intensive workloads. For those customers who are upgrading old infrastructure, it is expected to achieve an estimated increase of approximately 1.9 times and up to 2.2 times on common workloads 3 compared to four-way platforms of the same grade that have a service life of 5 years. Virtual machine promotion.
New Intel? Optane? Persistent Memory: As part of the third-generation Xeon Scalable platform, Intel also released the Intel? Optane? Persistent Memory 200 series, which provides customers with up to 4.5TB of capacity per channel for memory Management of data-intensive workloads such as databases, intensive virtualization, analysis, and energy-intensive computing.
New Intel? 3D NAND SSD: For systems that use all-flash arrays to store data, Intel has released a new generation of high-capacity Intel 3D NAND SSDs: Intel SSD D7-P5500 and P5600. These 3D NAND SSDs use Intel’s latest TLC 3D NAND technology and a new low-latency PCIe controller to meet the intensive IO needs of AI and analytics workloads, and have advanced features to improve IT efficiency and data security.
Intel's first AI-optimized FPGA: Intel also disclosed the upcoming Intel? Stratix? 10 NX FPGA-Intel's first AI-optimized FPGA product built for high-bandwidth, low-latency AI acceleration. Such FPGAs can provide customers with customizable, reconfigurable, and scalable AI acceleration for applications with high computing requirements such as natural language processing and fraud recognition. Intel? Stratix? 10 NX FPGA is equipped with integrated high-bandwidth memory (HBM), high-performance network functions, and the latest AI optimization algorithm module AI Tensor Block, which contains a dense array of low-precision multipliers commonly used in AI model algorithms.
Optimize OneAPI cross-architecture development tools to continue to promote AI innovation: As Intel continues to expand its leading AI product portfolio to better meet diverse customer needs, Intel also continues to help developers simplify heterogeneous programming through the oneAPI cross-architecture tool portfolio Process, accelerate performance and increase productivity. With these advanced tools, developers can accelerate AI workloads on Intel CPUs, GPUs, and FPGAs, and make the code compatible with current and future Intel processors and accelerators.
Enhanced Intel Select Solutions to address the most urgent needs of IT departments: Intel has also comprehensively upgraded its selected solution portfolio to better help enterprise IT departments accelerate the deployment of the most urgent needs, which also proves to be pre-validated Solution delivery can fully demonstrate value in today's rapidly iterative business environment. Intel has recently released three new selected solutions, as well as five enhanced selected solutions, focusing on the three areas of data analysis, AI and hyper-converged infrastructure. The enhanced Intel Select Solution for genomic analysis is being used in the development of new crown vaccines worldwide, and the new Intel Select Solution for VMware Horizon VDI on vSAN will be used to enhance distance learning.
The third-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors and Intel Optane Persistent Memory 200 series are currently being delivered. In May, Facebook announced that it will build its latest Open Computing Platform (OCP) server based on the third-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors. Other large cloud service providers, such as Alibaba, Baidu and Tencent, have also announced the adoption of Intel's new generation of processors. The general OEM system configuration is expected to be launched in the second half of 2020. Intel SSD D7-P5500 and P5600 3D NAND solid state drives are now available. Intel Stratix 10 NX FPGA will be delivered in the second half of 2020.
